myPhoneDesktop App Reviews

Great app

I find myPhoneDesktop to be quite useful. My new iPhone 6 Plus is the only Apple phone I have owned with a usable onscreen keyboard. And even though I have Apples largest phone now, it often is still easier and quicker to compose texts using the app. The people complaining that you still have to interact with the phone and rating MPD low because of that... They need to realize this is probably due to Apples restrictions on iOS, not a shortcoming of the app. All of the similar apps I checked out have the same restriction and have some bad reviews because of it.

Not useful

Wow this app isnt very useful, or maybe it just shows how limiting iOS is. Keeping me inside the box as usual. Baaaa

Saves me a lot of time

Im constantly dialing numbers from a contact management database on my PC. With this app, I can now more easily dial those numbers without manually dialing from my phone. The only issue is that the app must be in the foreground to dial a phone number. You can bring it to the foreground by tapping on the notification sent to your phone or by switching apps with the home button. But when a phone call is made, the app returns to the background. I guess this is likely a limitation imposed by the iOS system, so I still give this a 5-star rating. I wish this could be solved however. It would also be nice if the desktop software could integrate with the Windows auto-dialer. I found an alternative solution by creating a small program to forward requests to the callto: protocol to myPhoneDesktop.exe. This allows me to now call simply by clicking on numbers in my database rather than highlighting them and pressing a shortcut key.

Utterly useless app

After reading a bunch of negative reviews, I decided to buy it anyhow hoping it was better than what was described. Honestly, the most useless app Ive ever used. It really does just send the phone number to your phone instead of making the phone call. Same with everything else. After installing it I spent 20 minutes trying to add contacts from outlook, since thats the only way to get them, them finally tried making a call. Typed the number in, pressed call, and then I got a text message with the number...what a waste. Getting a refund

Needs some setup time, but it works.

Highly recommend getting a programable mouse to make highlighting phone numbers or other data a one click push from computer to phone.

Garbage!

You still have to click send on your phone to use this, which the DO NOT tell you prior to purchasing the app. You have to constantly go back and forth between your phone and the app to do anything. Save your money and just buy a Bluetooth keyboard.

Does not work and no support response

Update May 22, 2015 - Since writing the below review, Ive emailed directly for help or a refund and have still received ZERO response. Application STILL does not work as advertised. Original Post- I am able to use FaceTime on my Mac to call and text when my phone is on the same network. I also have a PC and wanted to use the same features. I ran across this app looking for a PC based solution. I downloaded the app for my PC and bought the app for my phone. I then follow the instructions and the text will only forward from my PC to my phone, but they will not forward on to the person. I followed the instructions for resetting the push notifications, but nothing still works. I have emailed support twice asking for further instructions or refund and have received zero response.

Does not send text to your PC

I miss read the features and thought that SMS text messages would appear on my desktop Windows PC and allow me to respond without having to pull my phone out of my pocket .. That is NOT the case. You can only send a text messages from the desktop and NOT receive. My Bad. All the rest of the listed features work as advertised. However with the inability to receive text message make this a half complete application and not worth the whopping $4.99. 3 Starts and should be $1.99. Just my thoughts.

Very convenient...

If you work at a computer and use your iPhone for calls this app is for you. Very conveniently copy and paste phone numbers instead of typing them. If you make 50+ calls a day youll appreciate the time savings.

Awful

There is no obvious or intrinsic or subliminal value in this application. Cumbersome, not intuitive at all. Is not designed to interface with iOS at all. I should have used the Abraham Lincoln for TP. If would have at least served a purpose.

Kiss your $4.99 goodbye!

Unable to send texts. Did not connect calls. Crashed Windows 8.1 while attempting to link iPhone 6 Plus.

Needs bidirectional functionality

This app works well, however it needs bidirectional functionality. It works very well sending information from my computer to my iPhone, but it will not send information from my iPhone to my computer. Im not a programmer, however if you have information flowing one way, it seems like it wouldnt be too hard to have information flow the opposite direction. This means that this app is about half as useful as it could be.

Terrible App

This is a terrible app.

Small business owner

Waste of time and money. Been trying to get it to work for 3 days. Ive never written a review before but this is so bad I felt I had to.

Doesnt do what it claims

Dont waste your money

Useless

myPhone Desktop is one step away from being a miraculously useful app for anyone in the workplace, when you want to maintain full use of your phone via your computer. Sadly, it simply uses your computer as a glorified keyboard.

Abandoned?

App is really useful for quickly getting things like PDFs Pictures, links, epubs, etc from your desktop/laptop to your phone. I use it often but its now only really useful on my PC. Unfortunately THE Mac desktop client uses an older, insecure version of Java (runtime SE 6) that I am not willing to install on my computer. I really hope the dev still has plans for this app as I use it a lot. If your using a PC, it really is a useful app. And to those of you using this as a "glorified keyboard" should really be using Siri dictation anyway.

Working well January 2016

Update - Windows 10 users, Use the Windows Edge browsers to access this program! Go to their website. It works!

This a rape off

This app is a joke! It DOES NOT connect your phone number to computer. With this app you will NOT be able to text other people without touching your phone! This is a trash app which is way WORSE than its fancy description. There are other free trashy apps with this kind of feature. This whole thing is a rape off. I just WASTED five dollar for this trash.

I wished I had read the reviews

This app does not work and hands-down there is no support. I submitted a request for support on November 9, 2015 and I finally got a reply in my email on February 27, 2016... Over three months later. The reply told me that their helpdesk was experiencing unusually high traffic and apologized for the delay in getting back to me. Thats it. No answer to my question.
